Dress up!

I have to admit that I love dressing up! I really enjoy taking my time when I get ready for a special occasion.

For this outfit in particular, I was invited to my best friend's graduation. Her mother had organized a lovely brunch at a pretty outdoor restaurant.

I hate wearing the predictable dress every girl uses here in Guatemala. So I decided to give a twist.  This is how I wore a cop top a fancy way (at least for my style and the occasion, it worked.) I think the key to add sophistication to a crop top, is mixing it with the right pieces: a pencil skirt, fancy high heels and edgy jewerly.

This skirt is made of neoprene and faux leather, it's super comfy and I just love the print on it. My heels are made of elastic bands laced up magically so they look super feminine and sophisticated.

Marble & Pink

One of my favorite textures of all times has been marble. I love how elegant and cold it is, it looks amazing in matte or polished. But I think what I love the most about it is how ancient it is and it's always on trend. (Now it's even a trendy print).

So why not wearing it! It's so perfect that it even looks cold and elegant on clothes.
For this outfit I wore a marble print mini skirt from Zara (no longer available) and mixed it with a basic t-shirt and a faux leather jacket in my favorite color: Pink!

I must say I failed with the shoes, I mean they look all right, but I think it would have looked much better with some ankle booties.

Where the Wild Things are.

Rainy days in Guatemala can be tricky sometimes. It's that period of the year when summer is saying goodbye and winter is starting, so the days can be really hot and all of a sudden cold and rainy.

For this kind of days I like wearing my usual summer outfits with a bit of my winter outfits. (just like the days). In this outfit I wore high waisted shorts with an over sized mesh tank (summer outfit) and added an over sized long cardigan and ankle boots in case it rained. (which did)

I think what I love the most about this kind of outfits is that you can look completely different just by adding one key piece. In this case my blue printed cardigan.

I also added a turban (which I did it myself), it finishes the total outfit making it look effortless and cool.
I think this is one of my favorite looks of the year so far. I just loved how it worked!!

The printed Kimono

My dad gave me this kimono last year for my birthday. He's always trying to make me wear bright colors and bold prints. I must say he has great taste, but it's not easy wearing his presents.

Wearing this bold kimono is no exception!
When I wear bold trendy pieces I like to mix them with basics in neutral colors, so this is how I usually wear this kimono.

I wore a super basic look underneath, a black tank top with denim shorts and nude ankle straps.

I like to wear all my dad's presents, no matter how colorful they are. We have had a strong connection, since I was a baby and I still love to be daddy's little girl!

Special thanks to Pablo Estrada Segura for the lovely photos!

Thank you so much for reading!!

The boyish crop top

For tonight's post I am going to talk about the crop top. Although a lot of people don't consider it a basic, for me, it is. Not only because it's a really strong trend, but also it's very versatile and easy to wear.

There are a bunch of crop top styles, some of them are flattering some aren't. The key to find the perfect one, is to know your own body. Personally the ones that fit me great are the ones that are really fitted to my body, or the ones that are a little over-sized. Because I'm busty I can not wear those that have a lot of embellishment or flares. They make me look heavy and squared.

For this look I chose a boyish crop top, it's like a regular t-shirt, so it's not to over- sized. To add sassiness to the look, I mixed with a neoprene, tropical print skirt. (This kinds of skirts are amazing, they fit great and go with almost everything.)

I wet to the zoo that day, so I really needed comfy shoes. I decided to wore my Pony sneakers, although at the end of the day I realized they weren't so comfy after all..

This was how I mixed and matched my boyish crop top. It was an easy going look, with an effortless vibe of course.

The edgy cocktail look

Tonight I have to write about the last two things from my "10 things to try this month" list!
Because I didn't have any more time, I decided to wear two of the trends in one look. I mixed "Rock a sporty look" with "Add allure to a midi-skirt".

As you can see I didn't add to much allure to that midi-skirt, actually I chose this skirt because it already has allure by itself. It fits super goo, showing off my curves.

I picked this neoprene jersey, not only to mixed both trends, but also I wanted to give an easy, cool, effortless vibe to the skirt.

To keep it stylish I wore this amazing red lipstick. This one is "402" outlast, lipstain from Covergirl. It really lasts forever!!

To keep the look trendy, feminine and fresh, I wore this basic black d'orsay pumps.

I wore this sporty inspired look to a beauty event that I had to attend for work. I felt super comfortable and chic. Because it was a creative event, I really got away with this edgy cocktail look.

So this is my last post from my "10 things to try this month". Actually I didn't get to do all of them, I missed "get a new mani", I did get a new mani, but I just had trouble taking pictures and preparing material for the post. I promise to write about April's mani though!

Thanks a lot for reading!!

A printed maxi skirt and ice-cream, for a perfect sunny day.

Friday's mid days are ice-cream day with my dad. We both love ice-creams, the pistaccio flavor is our favorite! We usually do an activity like grocery shopping or going to the zoo or something like that and then we have our ice-cream. (Before lunch, cause we like being naughty.)

This past Friday was very windy, but it was also hot and we were going to do the usual shopping and ice-cream. So I decided to wear a printed maxi skirt, they are breezy but I never get cold wearing them.

I wanted a simple and easy look, so I combined the skirt with a solid white crop top, a light washed denim jacket and my favorite skull necklace. I love how no matter what outfit I'm wearing, it always goes with everything! ( I literally wear it almost every day!)

I finished it with my basic black sandals, they are super comfortable to walk with. They have an amazing high stacked heel. They went perfect with the skirt.

I always have a blast with my dad, and this day was no different!

Thanks a lot for reading!!

Mixing Prints

Continuing with the "10 thing to try this month" theme, tonight I'm going to write about how I dared myself to mix prints.

Honestly I'm not a big fan of prints, I like them but I don't wear them in the daily bases, so this was a kind of a hard challenge for me!

For this look I chose  my favorite printed skirts, it has a neon tropical print. I usually wear it with black pieces (I love to wear black) but this time, I chose to wear it whit a stripe print crop top.

It was a "meant to be" combination, it looked perfect! I added a denim jacket to finish it, so the look wouldn't be to baring.

For the shoes I went for a real wood pair of platforms. This ones are super comfortable to walk with, plus the add me height!

I really enjoyed wearing this look. It was fun and I didn't felt awkward at all, as a matter of fact, I felt really comfortable wearing it.

I dare you to try it sometime, this season is full of awesome prints. Adapt the ones you like the most to your own personal style and create great outfits!!
