"The question is not who is going to let me; It's who is going to stop me."

- Ayn Rand

I have to admit I'm not quite an adventurous person. For most people I can be consider as a dull person. I rather stay at home, go for coffee, visit a new restaurant, visit a friend, having a girly day with my best friend than going to a crowded wild party or a trendy bar.

But the wild adventure I really enjoy doing is,  city sightseeing with my crazy, awesome friend Mono del Espacio. We have visited some really fascinating places, most of them forgotten by the society.

This wall in particular was designed by one of the most famous Guatemalan cubist artists: Carlos Merida.

In this outfit I wanted something sporty yet girly, so I chose this badass vest from Dress Code Guate, a neon sports bra and a printed pencil skirt. (If you are the kind of girl who's always searching for unique pieces, you should definitely check out what Dress Code Guate has to offer.)

Of course these amazing photos were taken by my talented friend Mono del Espacio. (You should all check out his tumblr account!!)

All I have is denim in my head.

One of my personal fashion challenges was to rock a cap. For me it's extremely hard to wear hats or caps, cause my head it's to big, so I feel silly wearing them.

This cap is special though, that's why I gave it a shot. It's from Zoad 1, I really love that it's made of a cool washed denim with leather details. Plus it's super comfortable and best of all it fits my big head properly.

I wanted to wear a simple outfit, so I mixed my Zoad cap with an oversize knit sweater, a skater neoprene skirt and a classy pair of ankle straps. These shoes gave the whole look a feminine and sophisticated touch.

This is how I think I rocked a cap, I hope you guys like it!

I'm 59

One of the trends I have been in love, since it came out in 2009, is the sporty trend. First of all it's super comfortable, second of all it always gives you an amazing effortless look.

The key when wearing a sporty piece is mixing it with unexpected pieces (at least one). This will make the outfit more interesting, the easiest way to do it is with the accessories. Mixing it with other sporty pieces makes it to predictable, sometimes predictable can be a little boring.

When I wear over-sized shirts or sweaters, I like wearing them with shorts or skinny jeans with high heels. This makes your legs appear longer, balancing the whole outfit.

This amazing photos were taken by the awesome photographer: Pablo E. Segura. Thank you so so much!!

The perfect match

One of my ultimate favorite texture combination is the classic leather and denim. It doesn't matter which pieces are, if one is denim and the other one is leather, I know I am going to have a great outfit, for sure.

What I love the most about this mix is that is for every one!! You can adapt it to your personal style and make it your own.

For this look I wanted something fresh, comfortable and simple. I wore a light washed denim shirt, I fold over the sleeves a little, to make it look more effortless and casual. Also I wore my sporty leather mini shorts, this ones have mesh on the sides, making them look super cool.

I have to say, I have an addiction with the sports trend, every single piece in this trend not only has the super comfortable factor, but also adds a super cool vibe to every outfit you wear it with. I call it the super trend, plus it goes well with every type of body.

To add a little allure to the look, I decided to wear my studded ankle strap sandals. I love to wear heels with shorts, cause they make my legs look super long. The trick to look good with heels and shorts is to wear heels with ankle straps, booties or pointy pumps. Never with platform pumps, gladiator heels, knee boots, or peep-toe pumps. For me these are a don't, they make me feel tacky.

This outfit was so easy to wear, I think I might repeat it more than once. Changing a bit the accessories to make it a little different.

The boyish crop top

For tonight's post I am going to talk about the crop top. Although a lot of people don't consider it a basic, for me, it is. Not only because it's a really strong trend, but also it's very versatile and easy to wear.

There are a bunch of crop top styles, some of them are flattering some aren't. The key to find the perfect one, is to know your own body. Personally the ones that fit me great are the ones that are really fitted to my body, or the ones that are a little over-sized. Because I'm busty I can not wear those that have a lot of embellishment or flares. They make me look heavy and squared.

For this look I chose a boyish crop top, it's like a regular t-shirt, so it's not to over- sized. To add sassiness to the look, I mixed with a neoprene, tropical print skirt. (This kinds of skirts are amazing, they fit great and go with almost everything.)

I wet to the zoo that day, so I really needed comfy shoes. I decided to wore my Pony sneakers, although at the end of the day I realized they weren't so comfy after all..

This was how I mixed and matched my boyish crop top. It was an easy going look, with an effortless vibe of course.

Over-size = comfy-size

Yesterday I had one of the greatest day's of the year so far! I had the pleasure to assist to "Bonito mi barrio" street art exhibition, later I attended to an anime convention. Which I have to admit I had a great time!

Because these where outdoors events besides it was a really hot sunny day, I decided to wear a comfy mesh tank top. This tank is amazing for hot summer days, it's breezy, sheer and fabulous. I consider it a basic piece in every wardrobe, no matter your style, you always need an over-sized black tank top.

I wanted an edgy look, so I wore my trusty high-waisted shorts. Instead of wearing my tank inside my shorts, I decided to wear it like a mini dress, so I would feel more fresh, free and comfortable.

Underneath my sheer tank, I wore a white and turquoise bikini top. I mean why not, the day was so hot, plus I was going to summer parties so I could get away with it.

I finished my outfit with my wonderful sporty high-stack ankle straps, (they are so comfy it's like wearing sneakers!)  and my always so chic body necklace.

I love to wear over-sized clothing, my secret is not to wear all my over-sized pieces at the same time. If I do so, I would look sloppy and neglected. I like to create a balance between a nice fitting piece and always wear heels to make the piece appealing and simply chic.

The edgy cocktail look

Tonight I have to write about the last two things from my "10 things to try this month" list!
Because I didn't have any more time, I decided to wear two of the trends in one look. I mixed "Rock a sporty look" with "Add allure to a midi-skirt".

As you can see I didn't add to much allure to that midi-skirt, actually I chose this skirt because it already has allure by itself. It fits super goo, showing off my curves.

I picked this neoprene jersey, not only to mixed both trends, but also I wanted to give an easy, cool, effortless vibe to the skirt.

To keep it stylish I wore this amazing red lipstick. This one is "402" outlast, lipstain from Covergirl. It really lasts forever!!

To keep the look trendy, feminine and fresh, I wore this basic black d'orsay pumps.

I wore this sporty inspired look to a beauty event that I had to attend for work. I felt super comfortable and chic. Because it was a creative event, I really got away with this edgy cocktail look.

So this is my last post from my "10 things to try this month". Actually I didn't get to do all of them, I missed "get a new mani", I did get a new mani, but I just had trouble taking pictures and preparing material for the post. I promise to write about April's mani though!

Wearing down a "LBD"

Today I tried another thing of my "10 things to try this month" list: "wear a lbd in an effortless way".  I wanted a challenge so I decided to wear a basic and dressy sheath dress. The challenge was to really wear it down, so the look would be casual and sporty.

Today I had run a lot of errands, so I really wanted a super comfortable outfit. I just knew I had to wear my dressy black dress for this.

I must say it wasn't easy at all! This dress is very dressy and uptight, so I had to combine it with sporty pieces to achieve a  sproty, casual effortless look.

I started by adding layers to the dress: I chose an over-sized crop shirt with fringes and a distressed denim vest with little studs here and there.

To top all this pieces off, I put aside my heels for today, and decided to wear my super comfortable new balance sneakers. They add this pop of color in an edgy way, I love to wear them with "all black" outfits.

I like to think I really pull it off. I felt really good, it was like I was keeping a secret with my dressy dress underneath this sporty look.
