Love affair

One of the things that make me so damn different from other girls is that I actually don't like having a standard boyfriend. For me having a relationship means a lot more than just the "cute" stuff, like holding hands, flowers, nicknames, etc.. I can't stand those things!

So whenever I want a pair of real boyfriend jeans I have to buy them. This is how I bumped into these amazing Distefano skinny jeans. They are actually for men, but they fit me perfect! Even my butt looks nice on them. (I'll post a picture of my butt wearing this jeans on my Instagram. So you can see it for yourselves.) They do not fit like the standard boyfriend fit jeans, that's why I had to have them.

I also wanted to show you guys 6 different ways of how I fold the hem of my jeans, and how I mix it with different pairs of shoes.

These super cool photos were taken by the beautiful and awesome Sarah Caroline Müller.

I hope you guys find this helpful Thanks a lot for reading!!

I don't want fortune cookies, I want fortune walls..

Last Saturday I had the fortune to attend an art event, in one of the most awesome abandoned buildings in Guatemala city. There were a lot of really good artists who exposed their latest pieces, I really enjoyed almost all of the exhibitions. (Yep, I changed my hair color!)

I bumped into my awesome friend Mono del Espacio, who introduced me to Melvin. The amazing artist who filled with fortune and beauty a dull old wall, in front of all us who visited his exhibition.

For this event I chose to wear a smart outfit: a comfy pair of distressed black jeans, a coke t-shirt and a pale pink faux leather jacket, I just bought a couple of days ago. I love to wear faux leather jackets for rainy days, they really protect you from the rain without getting ruin, plus they always make you look like a rock star.

I also got my mani done a couple of days ago, with a Pollock paint inspired nail polish. It went perfect for the event so I was showing it a little bit off.

This awesome photos were taken by the super talented Mono del Espacio, check his tumblr out to see all the photos from that fun day!

All I have is denim in my head.

One of my personal fashion challenges was to rock a cap. For me it's extremely hard to wear hats or caps, cause my head it's to big, so I feel silly wearing them.

This cap is special though, that's why I gave it a shot. It's from Zoad 1, I really love that it's made of a cool washed denim with leather details. Plus it's super comfortable and best of all it fits my big head properly.

I wanted to wear a simple outfit, so I mixed my Zoad cap with an oversize knit sweater, a skater neoprene skirt and a classy pair of ankle straps. These shoes gave the whole look a feminine and sophisticated touch.

This is how I think I rocked a cap, I hope you guys like it!

I'm 59

One of the trends I have been in love, since it came out in 2009, is the sporty trend. First of all it's super comfortable, second of all it always gives you an amazing effortless look.

The key when wearing a sporty piece is mixing it with unexpected pieces (at least one). This will make the outfit more interesting, the easiest way to do it is with the accessories. Mixing it with other sporty pieces makes it to predictable, sometimes predictable can be a little boring.

When I wear over-sized shirts or sweaters, I like wearing them with shorts or skinny jeans with high heels. This makes your legs appear longer, balancing the whole outfit.

Meet me at the Prime Room.

One of my favorite things to wear is black tops with black bottoms. You can never go wrong with it, it looks super chic, elegant and just amazing.

I like wearing black everything, but sometimes I like to change it a bit, by adding white accessories.
Mixing black and white is a timeless combo, it's classy and you can wear it in any season. Adding metallic details gives so much more style to a b&w outfit.

To keep the outfit simple and classy, I like to wear pointy pumps. These type of heels have the ability to look amazing no matter what you wear. That's why I always say "When in doubt, wear pointy pumps."

I loved wearing this look, I felt such a classy, badass, gal! It's probably one of my favorite outfits I've ever worn.

Special thanks to the amazing photographer Pablo Estrada Segura, for the terrific pictures!

Black dragons for rainy days.

I love sunny days, but my heart has a special place for grey days. I love when the days are slow, when you don't know what time it is, the smell of wet earth and the chilly drizzles. Personally I like to spend those days alone, enjoying the simple things the day is giving me.

For that, I don't see the point in wearing a color when the day is grey. I feel like if I do so, I'm sabotaging the nature of the day. I enjoy bringing all the feelings the day gives me through my outfits.

There is nothing better than wearing a comfy sweater on rainy days. It just comforts me in a really special and unique way. (No other piece makes me feel that way, I adore sweaters!) Plus, I love how versatile they are, I can wear them with pretty much anything.

Again, a special thanks to the genius Pablo Estrada Segura, for the amazing photos!!

The printed Kimono

My dad gave me this kimono last year for my birthday. He's always trying to make me wear bright colors and bold prints. I must say he has great taste, but it's not easy wearing his presents.

Wearing this bold kimono is no exception!
When I wear bold trendy pieces I like to mix them with basics in neutral colors, so this is how I usually wear this kimono.

I wore a super basic look underneath, a black tank top with denim shorts and nude ankle straps.

I like to wear all my dad's presents, no matter how colorful they are. We have had a strong connection, since I was a baby and I still love to be daddy's little girl!

Special thanks to Pablo Estrada Segura for the lovely photos!

The big black panther sweatshirt.

One of the most versatile and easy to wear piece, has to be the amazing sweatshirt. It literary goes with everything. You can either wear it down or wear it with a more polished chic look.

For this look I wanted a polished look but with a fresh more casual vibe.
I chose one of my favorite sweatshirts, It's black, comfy and has a big panther, what's there not to love?
The trick to create a chic look, is to add allure to it. And by that I mean adding pieces you never imagine them to go with a sweat shirt. For example:

 1. A statement necklace, It adds a more polished look.

  2. Add a trendy bottom, this gives a cool vibe to the whole look. It can be a trendy skirt, jeans, trousers or even overalls. It depends in wich direction you whant to go. I wanted a more casual and cool vibe, so I chose a trendy pair of jeans.

  3. Finish it up by adding a simple pair of heels, I love to wear minimal ankle straps, they always make my outfits look perfect!

I think what I love the most about the sweatshirt is, that they never go out of trend, no matter what I always have an effortless look, plus there is nothing more comfortable than wearing sweatshirts.

The perfect match

One of my ultimate favorite texture combination is the classic leather and denim. It doesn't matter which pieces are, if one is denim and the other one is leather, I know I am going to have a great outfit, for sure.

What I love the most about this mix is that is for every one!! You can adapt it to your personal style and make it your own.

For this look I wanted something fresh, comfortable and simple. I wore a light washed denim shirt, I fold over the sleeves a little, to make it look more effortless and casual. Also I wore my sporty leather mini shorts, this ones have mesh on the sides, making them look super cool.

I have to say, I have an addiction with the sports trend, every single piece in this trend not only has the super comfortable factor, but also adds a super cool vibe to every outfit you wear it with. I call it the super trend, plus it goes well with every type of body.

To add a little allure to the look, I decided to wear my studded ankle strap sandals. I love to wear heels with shorts, cause they make my legs look super long. The trick to look good with heels and shorts is to wear heels with ankle straps, booties or pointy pumps. Never with platform pumps, gladiator heels, knee boots, or peep-toe pumps. For me these are a don't, they make me feel tacky.

This outfit was so easy to wear, I think I might repeat it more than once. Changing a bit the accessories to make it a little different.

Over-size = comfy-size

Yesterday I had one of the greatest day's of the year so far! I had the pleasure to assist to "Bonito mi barrio" street art exhibition, later I attended to an anime convention. Which I have to admit I had a great time!

Because these where outdoors events besides it was a really hot sunny day, I decided to wear a comfy mesh tank top. This tank is amazing for hot summer days, it's breezy, sheer and fabulous. I consider it a basic piece in every wardrobe, no matter your style, you always need an over-sized black tank top.

I wanted an edgy look, so I wore my trusty high-waisted shorts. Instead of wearing my tank inside my shorts, I decided to wear it like a mini dress, so I would feel more fresh, free and comfortable.

Underneath my sheer tank, I wore a white and turquoise bikini top. I mean why not, the day was so hot, plus I was going to summer parties so I could get away with it.

I finished my outfit with my wonderful sporty high-stack ankle straps, (they are so comfy it's like wearing sneakers!)  and my always so chic body necklace.

I love to wear over-sized clothing, my secret is not to wear all my over-sized pieces at the same time. If I do so, I would look sloppy and neglected. I like to create a balance between a nice fitting piece and always wear heels to make the piece appealing and simply chic.

The distressed denim skirt

Tonight I'm going to write about my basic denim pencil skirt. I find pencil skirts really easy to wear, they go well with almost anything.

What I like to do, when wearing a pencil skirt is:

                                 1. If the skirt is not so figure fitting like this one, I like to wear it with fitted tops.
                                 2. I always wear them with heels. So my legs don't look short. Sometimes I break
this rule wearing it with some sporty sneakers, but never ever with flats.

I wore this distressed pencil skirt with a black basic crop top. This one is made of neoprene so it's really fitted, almost like a bodycon. I goes really well with any high-waisted bottom, if they aren't to short.

I had to work that day, so I needed to wear comfy heels. This ankle straps are super comfortable, I can walk all day with them.

This look was simple and easy to wear, I must say this kinds of skirts are not very comfortable though. If you are used to give long steps when walking, you'll probably wont like wearing them. But for me they always work really well for my kind of job.

Wearing White

Wearing all white was another thing I wanted to try this month. I have to say, this has been the biggest challenge ever!

I can create all white outfits for other people to wear, I find it so easy. But for me, it just didn't work..

First of all my white jeans don't fit anymore, they are two sizes bigger than my actual size, and all my white blouses are over-sized so it didn't work.  I tried, but I didn't felt comfortable, it was too loose and a lot of white for me (a "do you have this in black" kinda girl.)

But I did created a inspired look, that I did felt comfortable with.  Although this was the whitest I could go.

I wanted a simple clean oufit, I chose an oversize pj's inspired silk blouse, with a marble print fold over mini skirt. This piece adds so much style to any simple outfit, but I have to be honest, I can't bent over at all! So that makes it not so comfortable to wear, but for me it's worth it!

I really felt I needed a little bit more dark colors in my look so I wore a black berry lipstick. This one it's  "black berry color fast" from Max Factor.

Because the skirt it's too short, I decided to wear this amazing ankle strap sandals. This are one of my favorite heels to wear, they are super comfortable (I'm not lying!!) , plus they always give this classy vibe to any look I wear them with.

I didn't succeed in this challenge, but I was really glad and comfortable wearing this look!
