Rainy Monday

Drizzly days are one of my favorite kinds of day. The peace these days have make everything get better. The sound of the water drops touching the asphalt, the sound of the leaves waving with the  cold wind and how the streets become mirrors with drawn rainbows.

For these days I like to feel super comfortable, so I wear my favorite kind of clothes: A comfy knit sweater, my neoprene mini skirt, over the knee socks, chunky platforms and my trusty faux fur coat. These are literally my favorite items on my closet. They look great with every clothe I own.

A BIG FAT UPS!

I have to be honest with you guys, I found myself out of stock. I haven't had time to prepare material for the blog. I love my new job, but it has consumed most of my time.

I was lucky enough to find this look saved on my blog files. This dress and vest are from "Dress Code Guatemala". I love maxi dresses, they are so easy to wear, this ones is backless with long sleeves, which makes it even more fun to wear.

I think what I like the most about maxi dresses are that with a nice pair of heels, they make me look super tall. (Who doesn't like being tall?)

I really hope you like this emergency post!

Mondays hate me..

One of my favorite combinations to wear is black over black. It just makes me feel very comfortable every time.

For this look I felt like wearing a sand trench coat over my "all black outfit". Not only because it has been raining a lot here in Guatemala city, but also it gave me a different look a more polished one.
Sorry for my super crazy hair, I didn't have time to comb myself.
Hope you guys like it!!

Marble & Pink

One of my favorite textures of all times has been marble. I love how elegant and cold it is, it looks amazing in matte or polished. But I think what I love the most about it is how ancient it is and it's always on trend. (Now it's even a trendy print).

So why not wearing it! It's so perfect that it even looks cold and elegant on clothes.
For this outfit I wore a marble print mini skirt from Zara (no longer available) and mixed it with a basic t-shirt and a faux leather jacket in my favorite color: Pink!

I must say I failed with the shoes, I mean they look all right, but I think it would have looked much better with some ankle booties.

All I have is denim in my head.

One of my personal fashion challenges was to rock a cap. For me it's extremely hard to wear hats or caps, cause my head it's to big, so I feel silly wearing them.

This cap is special though, that's why I gave it a shot. It's from Zoad 1, I really love that it's made of a cool washed denim with leather details. Plus it's super comfortable and best of all it fits my big head properly.

I wanted to wear a simple outfit, so I mixed my Zoad cap with an oversize knit sweater, a skater neoprene skirt and a classy pair of ankle straps. These shoes gave the whole look a feminine and sophisticated touch.

This is how I think I rocked a cap, I hope you guys like it!

Where the Wild Things are.

Rainy days in Guatemala can be tricky sometimes. It's that period of the year when summer is saying goodbye and winter is starting, so the days can be really hot and all of a sudden cold and rainy.

For this kind of days I like wearing my usual summer outfits with a bit of my winter outfits. (just like the days). In this outfit I wore high waisted shorts with an over sized mesh tank (summer outfit) and added an over sized long cardigan and ankle boots in case it rained. (which did)

I think what I love the most about this kind of outfits is that you can look completely different just by adding one key piece. In this case my blue printed cardigan.

I also added a turban (which I did it myself), it finishes the total outfit making it look effortless and cool.
I think this is one of my favorite looks of the year so far. I just loved how it worked!!

#instameetgt

A couple of weeks ago was the world wide instameet, I had the pleasure to be part of this amazing project here in Guatemala. I really have to thank from the bottom of my heart to Mono del Espacio for making me part of this and most of all, believing in me. (you should all check his work out, it's incredible!)

That day was a really hot, but in the morning rained a little. So I decided to wear was a skort (for the heat), a super comfy tank from Zoad 1, (this tanks look great with anithyng you wear!) an amazing rain vest (in case it rained) and some high heel booties.

This is another way to wear a skirt for rainy days, again I think the key is layering (in this case the vest.) and the booties, so my feet wouldn't get wet. This is a more easy going outfit, super comfortable and I just felt great the whole day (I walked nonstop that day!).

Thank you so much Gustavo Dávila and Lester Liquens for this beautiful photos!!

Waltheria for rainy days

Thanks to the lovely anon who wrote me a couple of days ago, I am going to write a few posts of how I dress for grey rainy days, wearing shorts, skirts and dresses.

I think the best way to dress for rainy days is by adding layers to your outfit. By layers I don’t just mean adding a jacket or coat, it can also be stockings or leggings. These ones look really good with shorts, skirts and dresses. (Personally I don’t like to wear leggings unless I’m going to my yoga class, but I do wear stockings a lot.)

For this outfit I based it on this great shirt by Waltheria. I mixed it with short shorts and some black stockings underneath.

For the shoes, I wore my trusty chelsea ankle boots. These boots have the power to look great no matter what I wear them with! Besides, there is nothing I hate more than getting my feet wet, so the best way to avoid this, is wearing boots, boties or pumps.

I also wore my fantastic C'santos necklace to add a little pop of color to the whole outfit.

It was a look really easy and fun to wear, it kept me warm and comfortable the whole day!

Black dragons for rainy days.

I love sunny days, but my heart has a special place for grey days. I love when the days are slow, when you don't know what time it is, the smell of wet earth and the chilly drizzles. Personally I like to spend those days alone, enjoying the simple things the day is giving me.

For that, I don't see the point in wearing a color when the day is grey. I feel like if I do so, I'm sabotaging the nature of the day. I enjoy bringing all the feelings the day gives me through my outfits.

There is nothing better than wearing a comfy sweater on rainy days. It just comforts me in a really special and unique way. (No other piece makes me feel that way, I adore sweaters!) Plus, I love how versatile they are, I can wear them with pretty much anything.

Again, a special thanks to the genius Pablo Estrada Segura, for the amazing photos!!

Thanks so much for reading!!
