Stripes, Squares, Butterflies and fun!

Wearing pants in winter can get a little boring. As you all know, I love to wear skirts and dresses, they make me feel free and pretty. So, why not wearing them on winter?

This time, I'm showing you how I wore this flattering, striped, pencil skirt. I wanted a simple yet feminine look. I mixed my skirt with a basic white crop top and added a trendy third piece: A light printed poncho. To make the look interesting and fun to wear.

I must say that this day wasn't cold, actually it was sunny with cool breezes every now and then. That's why my flirty skirt look worked.

Marble & Pink

One of my favorite textures of all times has been marble. I love how elegant and cold it is, it looks amazing in matte or polished. But I think what I love the most about it is how ancient it is and it's always on trend. (Now it's even a trendy print).

So why not wearing it! It's so perfect that it even looks cold and elegant on clothes.
For this outfit I wore a marble print mini skirt from Zara (no longer available) and mixed it with a basic t-shirt and a faux leather jacket in my favorite color: Pink!

I must say I failed with the shoes, I mean they look all right, but I think it would have looked much better with some ankle booties.

I don't want fortune cookies, I want fortune walls..

Last Saturday I had the fortune to attend an art event, in one of the most awesome abandoned buildings in Guatemala city. There were a lot of really good artists who exposed their latest pieces, I really enjoyed almost all of the exhibitions. (Yep, I changed my hair color!)

I bumped into my awesome friend Mono del Espacio, who introduced me to Melvin. The amazing artist who filled with fortune and beauty a dull old wall, in front of all us who visited his exhibition.

For this event I chose to wear a smart outfit: a comfy pair of distressed black jeans, a coke t-shirt and a pale pink faux leather jacket, I just bought a couple of days ago. I love to wear faux leather jackets for rainy days, they really protect you from the rain without getting ruin, plus they always make you look like a rock star.

I also got my mani done a couple of days ago, with a Pollock paint inspired nail polish. It went perfect for the event so I was showing it a little bit off.

This awesome photos were taken by the super talented Mono del Espacio, check his tumblr out to see all the photos from that fun day!

The boyish crop top

For tonight's post I am going to talk about the crop top. Although a lot of people don't consider it a basic, for me, it is. Not only because it's a really strong trend, but also it's very versatile and easy to wear.

There are a bunch of crop top styles, some of them are flattering some aren't. The key to find the perfect one, is to know your own body. Personally the ones that fit me great are the ones that are really fitted to my body, or the ones that are a little over-sized. Because I'm busty I can not wear those that have a lot of embellishment or flares. They make me look heavy and squared.

For this look I chose a boyish crop top, it's like a regular t-shirt, so it's not to over- sized. To add sassiness to the look, I mixed with a neoprene, tropical print skirt. (This kinds of skirts are amazing, they fit great and go with almost everything.)

I wet to the zoo that day, so I really needed comfy shoes. I decided to wore my Pony sneakers, although at the end of the day I realized they weren't so comfy after all..

This was how I mixed and matched my boyish crop top. It was an easy going look, with an effortless vibe of course.

Metals, blossoms and bees.

Last Saturday I had to attend  a wedding ceremony. It was officiated during midday, in one of the most beautiful churches here in Guatemala.

I must say, I truly dislike going to weddings. It's a personal thing.. But,  I like being polite, so if I'm invited, I'll go. Probably I'll break some dress code rules, cause let's face it: they're just boring and sometimes absurd!

For this look I decided to wear a two piece set dress. Although it was a cropped top, the pencil skirt was high waisted, so I didn't show my stomach.
I went for a long sleeve top with crew neck and a knee length pencil skirt. (this was me being polite, following the rules.) But I chose a bold, yet feminine print. (this was me being naughty, breaking the rules.)

I wanted to keep the glamour, but I also wanted to add some edge to the outfit. So I wore this fabulous metallic sandals with cutouts. I just love how much they add to any outfit I wear with them.

To add a little more edge in a feminine way, I wore this pretty bee long earrings, with a low pony tail. I chose a simple black leather clutch cause I felt I had mixed enough textures and colors already.

This is how I created this edgy yet appropriate look for a wedding day. For me it worked, I felt comfortable and satisfied with it. Plus, I received great compliments!
